Price   -   8/10

$499.99

Sound Quality   -   8/10

It sounds like a Strat! If you like the spanky glassy sound that a Strat is know for you will probably love this guitar.

Build Quality   -   7.5/10

The over all build quality on the Standard Mexi Strat is pretty good but a bit inconsistent. I have played A LOT of these guitars and it seems that the playability from guitar to guitar is kind of hit and miss. This probably has a lot to do with the setup on the individual guitar. Some of them feel play and sound great while others are pretty disturbing. I particularly noticed these inconsistencies on the evenness of the frets.

The cool thing about the build quality of this Strat is that they can really take a lot of abuse. I have seen Strats take a dive off of a stand or a wall hanger and be just fine afterwards. Hearty guitars!

Pros

• Lots of color options
• Classic Strat sound for under $1000.00
• Choice of maple or rosewood fingerboard
• Stands up to abuse
• Gig bag included

Cons

• Tuners could be better quality
• If you're looking for a thick Les Paul tone Strats can be a bit thin but that's what it's made for

Overall Rating   -   8.1/10

If you want to cover all of your guitar bases you will need a Start sound sooner or later. I really recommend this guitar if you want the Strat sound but are on a budget. If you are not on a budget an upgrade to a USA made Strat is definitely worth it. If you don’t want to break the bank you can just go with this solid guitar and maybe change out the tuners eventually.
